Julia Collier shows
Julia Collier was born in Windsor, grew up in Margate, and has lived in London for most of her life – apart from 5 years in Manchester, where she trained as an actress at Manchester Poly School of Theatre. To earn a crust, she has worked in numerous offices as a temp (mainly within the NHS), and trained as a Voice Teacher where she taught in drama schools in London and Manchester. Now focussing on writing as well as performing in fringe plays, Julia is a member of two playwriting groups to which she regularly contributes. She also writes and performs sketch comedy and has appeared in a number of Camden fringe shows with her comedy partner Clare Jones (as the Spring Chix) and has also appeared as a Bond villain in a successful comedy play “Martini Bond – Her hunt for the spy who loved her Mum” by Lyndsey Jones. Last year she co-wrote a comedy sketch show with Clare and Lyndsey : “Sex, Spies and Streaming”, performing with Clare, which had a successful run at the Hen and Chickens.
As well as performing in sketch comedy, Julia will be directing for the London-based amateur Tower Theatre Company for their Autumn season as well as planning a new writing and theatre project for next year – the theme of which is Horror and the supernatural.
Trying to keep fit and lose weight is also a goal for this year … watch this space.
