Coming from a foundation arts training at Brighton College of Art and subsequent three years at the London College of Communication studying graphics my working life has been involved in visual creativity in one way or another. I worked on part work magazines, ran print workshops for community groups of all ages, taught in special education schools and worked within the adult education system teaching art, craft and counselling. My own personal artwork encompasses screen printing, batik, illustration and latterly oil painting. For the last 10 years I have been using counselling skills gained in the late 90s to support students at university as a specialist mental health mentor.
For fun I am learning to play the piano, enjoy an eclectic mix of live music and going to the movies and the theatre. Also love gardening, tomatoes seem to be the most successful foodstuffs I can grow but the cabbage whites get most of my brassicas. I am about to embark on joining a local community group to rescue chickens and hopefully get a supply of eggs from them to sell to help support the community garden where they will live.
