Judith Walker shows
Judith Walker is a Fine Artist, Cartoonist and Stand up Comedian.
Judith Walker was born in Leeds and brought up in West Yorkshire. She moved to London in the 70s to study fine art at Central St Martins, London, then went to the USA to do a masters at New Mexico State University. Recently she completed a masters research degree at Birkbeck College in art and its cultural context
Judith has had many one-person exhibitions in the UK, exhibited in numerous group shows, and completed public works of art for South Bank University and Peckham Library in London. Her work is included in a variety of public and private collections in the UK and abroad.
She started drawing cartoons for cult cartoon magazine Duck Soup in the mid 80s, following which she produced a regular strip cartoon for The Sun’s women’s section, title MEN! from 1987-90. She has also been editorial cartoonist for New Humanist magazine from 2006 -13 and cartoonist in residence at UCL Hospital 2014.
Just over a year ago she started a whole new career as a stand-up comedian and regularly preforms on the London open mic circuit, but continues to produce fine artwork and cartoons from her studio in Deptford. She lives in south-east London with her husband, writer and journalist Mark Say.
