Julia Greenaway has worked in broadcast journalism for more than twenty years. Before she embarked on her Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism at Leeds University, she was a children’s storyteller playing ‘Alice in Wonderland’ at a family theme park. She loves the tradition of storytelling in any form from those passed down the generations around camp fires to old and new writers alike. Her favourite book ? She likes contemporary stories that are honest and true to life like Isabel Losada’s ‘Battersea Park Road To Enlightenment’, books that have a great sense of place and character such as Penelope Fitzgerald’s ‘Offshore’ and she’s a mad keen Agatha Christie fan. Julia is keen to enable more and more women to successfully crack the worlds of writing and broadcasting.

Since trying my hand at student radio while a postgraduate in North Wales in 2010, I have never been off the air. I started off presenting music programmes and later turned my hand to news and current affairs programming. I have interviewed bands such as Space, Wheatus (many times) and Turin Brakes. My background in modern languages educated me well about the European Union and I have interviewed ambassadors, MPs and MEPs while the issue is so relevant. I have a background in translation and have produced content for French-language radio programmes
