Hello and welcome to the Feng Shou Foon show with me, Ting Fun Chick, Chinese astrologer and international Feng Shui master on women's radio station. Feng Shui and Chinese astrology adds value to your life. Listen in for top feng Shui tips and monthly Chinese horoscopes. Today we're going to be talking about the sign of the dragon. The dragon is one of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs. We're talking about the dragon because April is Dragon Month. You're probably aware that the 12 animal signs each take turn to rule a year and a half. As well as ruling a year, did you know that the animal signs also rule a month? So this month is Dragon Month. The dragon also has its time of day. The Dragon time is 7am to 9am in the morning. When we've got summertime, it's 8am to 10am so the dragon rules a year, it rules a month, it rules a day and it rules an hour. Each of the times can also be ruled by different animals. So let's talk a bit about the dragon personality. The dragon is the only mythical creature of the 12 Chinese astrology signs. The dragon is considered very auspicious, very lucky. It's noble, it's proud. And these are some of the qualities we associate with people born in the year of the Dragon. Now most dragons also like to be leaders and dragons like to get noticed, to be the center of attention, to get the crowd adoring them. So whilst the dragon can certainly know how to stand out, you also need to make sure that you're being known for doing the right things. So as a dragon, be on your best behavior. Dragons can be quite risk taking. Now this can be fantastic. Yet sometimes caution can also be your friend. Remember, there are times when you don't need to rush ahead. Dragons also love grand gestures. When a dragon is in love, you will know it. So if you're a dragon wanting to impress a new admirer or a new love, you will go to great lengths to do just that. If you're lucky to be on the receiving end of the attentions of a dragon, be mindful that they could be going, they could be trying a little too hard. Remember to to assess how they truly are in those moments when they're not putting on a fantastic show. When it comes to romance, or even friendship. The Chinese animal signs can give you some indications of compatibility. Dragons get on very well with rats, monkeys and roosters. Those born under the sign of the dog tend to clash with those born under the sign of the dragons. Now, that would just be looking at your year animal signs. Remember that. As well as your year animal, you've also got a month animal, a day animal and an hour animal. So you can get all your four animals when you plot your own chart. And you can do that with the Chinese Destiny Stars astrology app. So dragon personality is also very flamboyant, and this flamboyance can make people very attracted to the dragon. If you're a dragon, you can find yourself being known as being someone quite charismatic. A very famous dragon, which I'm sure a lot of you will adore watching, is Colin Farrell. There's also those dragons which tend to be very creative and John Lennon is a very creative sort of dragon. So for dragon personalities, you can really be very brash as well. So sometimes you can, sometimes you can be the centre of attention and loving it. There are other times when you might want to prefer to take a little bit of a step back, and in those cases, you might not feel too comfortable being in the shadows for too long. So always find the right sort of stage for you to put on your show. Now, Dragon is associated with being the end of the spring season. So in spring season, what's called the wood element is at its strongest. So wood element is about planning ahead and reaching out to others. So dragons, if you're listening, is it time for you to think a little bit more about what you want to do next? You have lots of fantastic ideas, but sometimes you need to put it all together in a plan. And when you do that, you could find that it's easier for you to assess the risk and decide on which adventure you're going to follow and which adventures you're going to put aside for another time, for when you understand a bit more about what could happen next. So during, during Dragon month, during April, there are. You can, whatever sign you are, you can make the most of the dragon energies for yourself. You can think about how you can be a bit bolder, how you can make yourself stand out, think about what goals you want to achieve and what you want to do in the coming months and use this month to make plans. And if it's time for you to get notice, borrow some of the dragon's flamboyance and use it to work to your advantage. When it's dragon Month, everyone can take a little piece of that Dragon flare and make it work for you. So for April and Dragon Month, make the most of the energies around you and use this time to think really positively about what you want, how you can achieve it, and if there's something that's really important for you in your life, what can you do to move things forward? The Dragon energy is very, very gung ho in Chinese astrology, and the Dragon believes that anything is possible and the Dragon will try its best. Sometimes you need to simply just try things to see if they work for you, and the Dragon attitude is if you try something and it doesn't quite work, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and fly off again. So take some inspiration from the Dragon and use it to your advantage. Right now we're going to be doing the monthly horoscopes for each of the 12 signs. So let's start with with the sign of the rat. Rat when you're aware of who you truly are and where your life is going, you get this sense of contentment. Are you noticing the positive signs around you this month? You could be making some new discoveries and there could be times when you're really clear about what to do next. There could be those moments where you might need to stand still for a while and figure out your next step. The most important thing this month is to realize that there's nothing wrong with where you are right now. So be bold, be brave, and have a fantastic month ahead. Let's now do the Ox Ox Even though you might have a lot going on, you can draw upon your enormous inner strength. Recognizing where you're strong and where your weaknesses are means you know when you want to fight and when you might want to step away because that's the right thing for you to do. Enjoy having some deep conversations this month. Snake have you been making a simple situation a little over complicated? There are times when things really are quite straightforward and there isn't anything that you need to make into and there isn't any need for you to try to make it more complicated. Are you persisting or are you wondering why nothing much seems to be happening? Just like flowers need water and sunshine before they blossom. Persevere with what you're doing and when you nurture your special project, you will see them go into full bloom. Goat, you love applying your logical mind to figure things out and sometimes things seem to defy logic. This month, tap into your intuition. There could be something where you can see the big picture by taking a big step back and not being too fussy over details. This could be a time when paying attention to the present moment means that you let go of previous assumptions and expectations and you begin to see things in a whole new light. Monkey Most of the time your monkey personality is known for being quick off the mark and this month is not going to be any different. However, you might be questioning how you see some recent events. Could it be you need to take a little bit more time to review things and really make sense of what's happening? Once you do that, you'll be able to sail through the month ahead. Rooster. You could find that you have a clear sense of purpose. Yet not everybody is understanding exactly what you're doing, why you need to do it and when you want to get it done. Be patient in explaining things to others. It could be that you need to draw different people into your circle in order for you to make the most of the situation you find yourself in. The right people will certainly be on hand for you this month. Dog. Do you get a sneaky feeling that others are not giving you all the answers? Sometimes you need to find the answers for yourself. Don't jump to too many conclusions too quickly. You could find that when you delve a little deeper and asked around in different places, you you begin to draw together all your ideas and things start making sense. Once you unbury the hidden facts, you'll have a revelation that will make it straightforward for you to move on through the month ahead. Pig. Every now and then, despite your good intentions, it looks as though you're not doing quite the right thing. Resist the temptation to try to convince others that you're doing the right thing when deep down in your own heart, you know that you really ought to be doing something else. Be gentle with yourself and acknowledge that you've made a mistake and you can soon do what you can to put it right. If you notice somebody has got themselves tied up in knots, you'll also be kind in helping them figure things out. And listen in for top feng shui tips and monthly Chinese horoscopes. Today we're going to be talking about feng shui for babies and children. Now, let's begin by talking a little bit about what feng shui is. Feng shui means wind and feng means wind and shui means water. So feng shui is about directing the chi, the energy, universal energy, that's all around us to help you get what you want. This qi, you can consider it a bit of a spiritual force. And for babies and children, they're particularly sensitive to their atmosphere, to their surroundings. So you could say one way of knowing whether the feng shui in a particular room is good or not is how does a baby or young child react? When a baby is happy, you will know it. There'll be smiles, there'll be giggles. When a baby is unhappy, there'll be screams, tantrums, and you and maybe your neighbours will also know it. So if a child is particularly unhappy in a room, that tells you something about the energies, the energies in the room. And why is that? Well, that's because in feng shui there are visible energies and invisible energies all around. If we talk about visible energies, we're looking at the furniture and the shape of furniture. And for children, it's important. This is kind of almost a common sense tip, that we don't have too many sharp corners because children can easily run into them and hurt themselves. So we want to soften the corners. But even in spaces, in rooms which are used by the whole family. It's a good idea to be aware of corners. Now what do I mean by corners? If for instance, you have a wardrobe or a chest of drawers, if the corner is quite sharp, then anything that's in line with that corner could experience some discomfort from the sharp corner kind of pointing invisibly at you. The way to solve this is to put something in front of the corner to soften it. You could do this by padding it out. You could have a plant or for a child's room, you could have like a big cuddly toy that would really help soften the corners. The other thing about children and feng shui is when you place a child to sleep in a room, make sure that the child doesn't get disturbed by the door opening onto the bed. So place the bed away from direct line of the door. Because what happens when you open the door to go into a bedroom is the movement of that door that generates some wind. That's the fung in feng shui. And that movement can disturb a child. Well, it can disturb anybody, even grown ups. So don't do this for your room either. But for a young child, they can be particularly sensitive to the energies. So make sure you don't open the door directly onto a sleeping child. Nowadays in modern houses we tend to have a lot of en suite bathrooms. And whilst they can be fantastic and super convenient, what happens is you then have a bedroom sharing a wall with the bathroom. Now when we see this, we can often have moving water on the shared wall between the bathroom and the bedroom. And this is not a great place to place a child's bed because the moving water can disturb the wall and the energy on the wall and make the room not as peaceful. This is quite subtle, but a young child could really notice this. This equally for an adult's room, it's best not to place your headboard against a shared wall. With an ensuite bathroom, if you can't avoid doing that, then try and get a thick, heavy headboard and maybe move it a tiny fraction away from the wall so that you're not connected to the sound of moving water. Also be aware of bathrooms which share walls with bedrooms even when they're not en suite bathrooms. So if the bathroom is next to a bedroom, be mindful that the person in the bedroom could be disturbed by someone having a shower or a bath. And so make sure the bed is placed away from the wall with the moving water. Now children love to have lots of space to run around in and in feng shui, when we have open space, that encourages the chi to circulate. What do I mean by qi? Well, qi is the spiritual force that we deal with in feng shui. So we have chi all around us. It's in our bodies. It's what acupuncturists work with when we go and get acupuncture. But in feng shui, we're dealing with the Qi in your house, in your space. So it's important for young children to have space to run around in. But when they're in their bedroom, when they're sleeping, it's actually better if the room doesn't have too much open space. And that's because young children like to feel cozy. Imagine when we all lived in caves, we wanted to feel safe and protected, especially when we're sleeping. If there's a lot of open floor space in a child's room, the qi, the energy could still be circulating whilst the child's in bed, and they could feel some disturbance. So an easy way to solve that is to place some furniture, toy boxes, floor cushions, sofas. Place some furniture in a child's bedroom so that there's not too much open space. And in an adult's room, the same could apply. Place some furniture to give the room a bit of a cozy feel. And for open windows, it's best not to have a window open when a child is sleeping. If the weather is very hot, then, yes, you could make an exception. But at this time of year, you do need to air your rooms, but do it when there isn't a sleeping baby in the room. When your baby is out of the bedroom, it's a really good idea to open the windows and let in some fresh air. Fresh air is very important, and knowing which window to open would be down to a detailed feng shui consultation for your own home. But as a general tip, it's a very good idea to let fresh air circulate in your home every day. And for children, let them also let children spend time outdoors. What happens is we often like to cotton wool our kids, but getting them into fresh air. And feng shui is also about being in touch with nature. Feeling your feet on the grass or sand, and being around trees and flowers and plants is also kind of part of what feng shui is about. And also it's good to just really let some of the freshness of outdoors into your home. And natural fresh air is really good to circulate all around your house. So for keeping a good atmosphere, positive vibes to help you and your family make sure your child is sleeping somewhere cozy and that there are no sharp corners, no water pipes behind the bed, and of course keep your home clutter free and tidy to enjoy good Feng Shui. Let's now talk about Feng Shui and Spring. Spring we naturally think of as a time for doing spring cleaning. And if you love Feng Shui and you ask anyone who loves Feng Shui, we love spring cleaning. There's nothing like sprucing up the energies of your home by cleaning and getting rid of things you don't want or need. We can often be very tempted to hang on to things. Oh, just in case, I might need another spare 10 cups. Just in case. All my friends come round at the same time. What if you only kept those things you truly loved and wanted? Well, if all your friends come round at the same time, maybe your friends could be bringing you a gift of some new cups for a cup of tea. Maybe you could just have a cold drink in the garden. So if you trust the universe and just go through your this month, go through your cupboards and ask yourself, do I really need that? Nowadays, we often end up with so much stuff in our lives and does that stuff give us happiness? Sometimes it does. We all love a bit of retail therapy and it's ever so easy to shop online and say, oh, I want that. It's on offer. And whilst it's good to have nice things in your home, you don't. Maybe you don't need quite so much. In feng shui, we say it's important that you have things which inspire you and uplift you. So this month, take some time to look around at the pictures and artwork in your home. What makes you feel really great? Are you holding on or keeping things because it was a gift from a relative? And what happens if they come round and they don't see it there? Ask yourself, are you surrounding things which you truly like and love? Now, as you go around your house, there's also some, what we call stars in feng shui. So in feng shui, we talk about the idea of there being stars. Now, these stars are not the same as the stars in the sky. These stars are different types of energy which in feng shui theory, come to your home. And when you can direct the stars in the right way, they help you get what you want. And this feng shui theory is known as flying Stars Feng shui. And in flying stars Feng shui, we look at your house and we figure out where all the different stars are. Now, in a little chat show, in a chat show like this, we can't really do that for your house, but we can certainly share with you some tips about where the stars are for this year and also this month. So for this year, the star which is a very, which is considered to be a very auspicious star in Flying Star is a star known as star number eight. Number eight, yes. We number these stars from one to nine. And number eight is in the southeast throughout this year, and interesting enough, the number eight star is in feng shui philosophy associated with children. So to help everyone in the family, it would be good for you to boost the number eight star. So how do you boost the number eight star? Well, in the southeast, you can add some lights and you can add a beautiful ornament in red or bright pink. If you have children, place a bright red children's toy and having some red some lights in the selfies, it helps boost the star number eight, which will help improve the feng shui in your home. Now remember that when the energies come into your home, they want room to circulate. And imagine the stars as being little personalities wandering in through your home. If you were coming to your home for the first time, would you like to see it really beautiful and clean? So would the stars. So a really easy feng shui tip is to keep things clean and keep things tidy. You'll also find that you'll feel so much better in your home as well. Think of it as giving your home lots of tender loving care. When you put those kinds of feelings around, as you clean and you do it in a happy mood, you're spreading good vibes. And the stars, the flying stars that are around your home, they also feel it. So it becomes a very positive reinforcing situation. Now, springtime spring cleaning is also a good time for letting more really cleaning out, cleaning the windows and bring some fresh flowers into your home. Fresh flowers really help lift the energies and make your home really feel truly wonderful. Now what we also have for this month, according to the flying stars, you can place your flowers somewhere to help bring new to help you bring to help you bring romance. Now, the sector that's good for bringing romance is the northwest. So if you have some fresh flowers, place them in a jar. Oh, if you have fresh flowers, place them in a vase of clear, clean water and place them in the northwest of your home. This will help attract new romance during this month. And if you want to also add some red and fiery colors in the south east, this will boost the stars, boost the qi throughout your home for the whole year. Now, another part of your home that can benefit from the energies. Sorry, another direction which. Another direction which is good for romance throughout the year is the south. So you could also place your vase of beautiful spring flowers in the south to help things along. If you're looking for new love, it helps to know what you want. Write a list of the qualities you're looking for in a new partner and tuck the list under your flowers. You can also look at the list often for yourself and maybe even carry a copy around with you so that you remind yourself of the qualities that you want. When it comes to romance and in nature, spring is the season of courtship. So for looking for new love, spring is certainly a good time for you to think about what you want. Write down the qualities and use a little bit of Feng Shui to help draw towards you lots of new admirers. So remember, we want to place For April we can place flowers in the northwest. Throughout the rest of the year we can put our fresh flowers in the south. And throughout this year it's having some red or bright lights in the southeast of your home and most important, clear out stuff you don't need. If you're still holding on to presents from your ex, maybe you could give them to a friend because they don't have the same emotional attachment. Or sell it or make a donation to charity. And when you clear your clutter, clear your cupboard. Also think about going through your wardrobe. Spring is a good time to take a look at what you're wearing and with that I'd like you to and I'd leave you with that last tip for this program.
