Foreign. Hello, and welcome to the Feng Shui Fun show with me, Ting Fun Chick, Chinese astrologer and feng shui master on women's radio station. On our show, we'll share regular Chinese horoscopes, top feng shui tips, and we want to empower you to live your best life. On today's program, I'm really excited to have with me Gerry Cox. Gerry is a top fashion stylist, and Geri is going to share some of the benefits she's had from getting feng shui from me. And Geri's going to share with you some top tips for you so you will look your very best. Do you have any questions for the Feng Shui Fun Show? Email presentersmensradiostation.com or tweet us@womensradio station. So, Geri, a very warm welcome. Hello, Geri. You've had a feng shui consultation with me over quite a number of years. Yes, since our daughters were three, we met at the swimming pool. Yes. And can you kind of share with some of our listeners some of the benefits you've seen from. I have to. I have to say you're one of my favorite clients because you really take action on making the changes. So tell. Tell our listeners some of the benefits you've had from following through on doing the feng shui stuff. Okay. Well, yes, Foon, thank you for all your advice. Throughout the course of our friendship. The benefits that I've seen was my house was slightly chaotic and it didn't feel balanced and harmonious. And being a stylist, I always enjoy beauty around me and balance. And somehow I couldn't quite manage to. To make my home the same as I could make mine or other people's wardrobes. And with your help, I've made it a harmonious place which benefits both myself and my daughter. I've seen great changes in her as she's grown, and we've worked through the places to look after her spirit, and she's now blossoming into a successful teenager. Her grades are good, I'm pleased to say, and she's very independent. Well, well done. It's interesting that sometimes we just need that outside help to, you know, help us see. See ourselves more clearly. Help us, you know, make our home or our wardrobes to be, you know, to be the. To be the very best. What would you say is the thing that you like most about your place after you've, you know, post feng shui, as it were? How do you feel when you're at home? I just feel More restful. And I. I have quite a hectic life, so it's. It's really nice to walk in the door and just have that big sigh and know that kind of everything's in the right place. And it's just an amazing feeling. I don't know if you remember when you came round to my house with a couple of your students, and I was going, oh, something's not quite right. And you were like, where's that old painting? And we put it back up in the corner. And even your students felt the difference of how the room felt. Yeah, that's. Yes, I remember that. Because what happens when you have the right thing in the right place, it's like the chi, that the subtle energy kind of feels at home. And how feng shui works is when we get the qi, the spiritual forces around us in our home, to be happy, then it helps us feel at ease. And it's about creating the right vibration, creating the right atmosphere. And we do that with placing pictures with colors, with how we arranged the furniture and where we sit, because we did a bit of rearranging the furniture for you. Did you notice a difference? I did, and I was extremely grateful. We did a lot of work in my daughter's room, if you remember, because I was concerned she was going to secondary school, and I was like, how is she going to settle down to study? And we did a desk placement for her and things like that. And I'm happy to report that she now comes home, she sits down, she does her homework without any force on my part. And, you know, it's just because she feels like that's how it should be. And I do put that down to the work that you did. So thank you so much. Oh, my pleasure. I'd just like to point out that children are very sensitive to energies. So when you have feng shui, whether you want to have a baby to develop well or for a child to flourish in primary school and now at secondary school age, it's particularly important to do well in exams. Getting feng shui in your home, getting the feng shui for your child's room, it just makes for the child to be more at ease, makes it easier for mums, less nagging, and, you know, creating the right sort of space, putting the desk in a position, that will help your child get the grade. And also at secondary school, there's the grades, but there's also the extracurricular events. And, you know, I've listened to your daughter and some of her singing, and that is truly amazing. Oh, thank you. Poom. Thank you. Yeah, she does love her music. And you have to be relaxed, I feel, to be creative. So her room works. Thank you. And I know one of the things I like is you put. Once we got things going, you were able to really put your own mark and make your place beautiful. And what the sort of feng shui advice we give, we say kind of what sort of colors, but there's flexibility. And I think it's important for people to be able to make the space their home and to be comfortable. And the sorts of recommendations I like to make are ones which give the client the opportunity to put their own stamp on their home. Yeah. Because, you know, I have very, very strong ideas about what I like and what I don't like and how I want things to be. So it's been absolutely fabulous to work with you and yet use my ideas as well. And it's sort of morphed into the whole house coming together as one. You can walk in the door and see all the rooms, and there feels like there's a connection. It doesn't feel like anything is disjointed. Yeah. And that's one of the, you know, one of the benefits from feng shui, it's to make a house, a home, really comfortable. And when you're really comfortable in your own space, you can be the best version of yourself. And when you're the best version of yourself, you can kind of do the right things and you can have better relationships, get on better with people. You can just make be clearer in your own mind and, you know, live your best life. It's like a confidence thing, really, which is what I do in styling. Instead of being there in the morning with your head in your hands, I have nothing to wear. You put that little bit of work in in the first, and things kind of dovetail easily. So there's never an occasion, if you're thrown by going to a wedding or something like that, where you haven't got something that you don't know that you're going to look perfect at. And when you look good, you feel good. And I found that feng shui in the home is the same. And why wouldn't you get help to have something when you can make your life so much easier? Yes, that's right. And in part two, we're going to share some really good styling tips with our listeners. And it's really interesting that you. Because I know you do amazing stuff with styling and making people look stunning. And it was a little bit of a surprise. For me that, you know, you kind of, you kind of needed some help to find your feet for your house. But I think we all need that. We all need somebody from outside to come and have a look and help us. I would so agree with you because people see you differently from how you see yourself and you can get confused. And a lot of clients have walked into stores and gone, ah, it's just so overwhelming. And when it's your own home, it's the same. Okay, so let's come back to talk about shopping after the break. Welcome back to the Feng Shui Phoon show with me Ting Fun Chick, Chinese astrologer and Feng Shui master on Women's Radio Station. Today we're talking to Gerry Cox, fashion stylist about how Feng Shui's help Gerry and we're now Going to turn over and have Geri in the hot seat to explain to us how you can get some top styling tips. You'll love this. You're very lucky to have Geri here today. So, Geri, let's share some styling tips for our listeners that they can apply easily at home. Okay, Phun? Well, the first thing is to take a really good look at your wardrobe and discard anything that you actually haven't worn for six months. Because if you haven't worn it for six months, you're not really going to wear it. Another good idea is to divide your clothes into winter and summer. Put the winter ones away and hang the summer ones up when it's summer and vice versa. The reason being is those other clothes will just confuse you. So work with what you've got. Then the next thing to do is take a good look in the mirror. We don't like doing that and it's very difficult. And this is why some. Sometimes we need some other help. But you have to be truthful with yourself. Have you got long legs? Have you got short legs? Have you got a long body or a short waist? And look at your best features, not your worst features. That's really hard for us to look at our best, especially women. Yes. And it's good to do it by yourself. But be realistic. The reason I say don't do it with a friend or a daughter or your mum is they all have a vision of who you are to your daughter. You're her mum, so she's not going to want you to look in a certain way to your mum. You're her daughter. She might want you to look slightly different from the person that you are. Then once you've looked at yourself and you've worked out what shape you are, look at the clothes that you feel most comfortable in, the ones that give you the most confidence, that are the easiest to wear and. And work out why they work for you. Is it because they disguise a little bump that you've got in a tummy? Or is it a dress that hides a big bottom? Or just simple things like that? Look at the necklines. Necklines are really important. You need open necklines. Most people work on the principle that there's two body shapes, an apple and a pearl. Right? Yes, I've heard of those. Yes. So the pair is bottom heavy. So if you decide that you are a pair, it's better to wear flared 50s dresses, that kind of style. But if you are an apple, it means that sometimes you can carry the weight around your Waist or you don't have a waist, that's another way to identify. If you feel like you've never had a waist, then straight lines, little 60s dresses would look good on you. And so then you take a long look and you then look at your colors. So you've worked through season, summer or winter, you've looked at necklines, you've looked at shape, then you look at colors and decide which are the best colours for you. And then you look at what you've got and you look at how you can make different looks with the things you've got. With your favorite pair of trousers, how many of the tops work with it? You need to be able to interchange it to at least four outfits for it to be working in your wardrobe. And you'll find that you end up with less clothes but a much easier life. It's a bit. It's a bit like feng shui. Less is more, less is more. But the thing is that you've got work for you, which is why I kind of understood where you came from. And I think if you've got a formula and you put in that bit of time at the beginning, you make your life so much easier that it just makes common sense to do it. Yes, well, feng shui is common sense and, you know, basic styling tips are common sense. But I think where it's good to call in a professional is to kind of get that advice so that you can be set up to kind of carry on doing it. Right. And talking of colors, I'd just like to add that obviously you want to choose colors that suit you, but we can also use Chinese astrology to help you identify your lucky color. So when you've got an important information. So we can also use Chinese astrology to help you identify your lucky color. So when you've got like an important, an interview or a first date, a special occasion, you can bring in that lucky colour, maybe subtly, but having that lucky colour with you can also inspire you to feel more confident. Well, I agree with you and I do believe that every shade, there is a shade of every colour that suits an individual. So if you said wear red, there's a different shade of red that would look good on a blonde as to a brunette. So, yeah, that works for me. And if some of our listeners are also getting ready for the next season, do you have any kind of advice on. You mentioned summer wardrobe and winter wardrobe? Are there some, if you like, overlap pieces like a black T shirt or a black polo neck? Oh, I know you said open Neck there are always overlap pieces and they're usually quite classical. And the best way to update your wardrobe for a new season is to look at what the magazines are bringing forward. Not to become a victim because you have to take your age, et cetera, into, into account. But you can always incorporate some of that new thing like the leopard print that's coming up and that will get stronger. You don't have to wear it top to toe, you could use it as a scarf. But just little things like that which will freshen your wardrobe and give it a new look so you don't feel like that you're wearing the same clothes all the time. That's very good advice. If our listeners want to get your help, how can they Best contact you by email@gerymcoxmail.com so you can reach out to Gerry via Gerry's email and you can always pass on a message via presentersomensradiostation.com pop in the subject line Feng Shui Funsho fashion stylist and I will get the messages to Geri.
