Future Classic Women Awards – Christmas Special 2020

Hello and welcome to Future Classic Women Awards. With me, Stefania Passamonte, on Women's Radio Station, the program where we search for the most amazing new female artists on the classical panorama. Today we're going to have a very special Christmas episode with contributions from past winners, nominees, and upcoming guests. Of Future Classic Women Awards 6th edition. So we're going to start with the winner of the 3rd edition of Future Classic Women Awards, the wonderful Welsh soprano Ellen Williams, with a favourite of all that is called In the Bleak Midwinter. Now the next one is the recent winner of the 5th edition of Future Classic Women Awards, the most amazing composer and pianist Olga Thomas, and she's coming here with a latest single from the Christmas Royal by the Royal Candlelight, Rudolph Christmas. December, like a lantern way up high, tells everybody to remember who is speeding through the sky. One reindeer promises his journey will be safe and sure and fast. Oh, who don't have a happy Christmas when you're long, long night at home? Across the continent and islands, the enchanted sleigh will go. In wintry darkness and in silence, where the children sleep below, his load will happily be lighter as it flies back home at last. Now we're going to go into the most classical songs of all, Anthony Dvořák. With "Rusaljka, Song of the Moon," sung by the beautiful voice of Lola. So wonderful. Now we have again our wonderful soprano Ellen Williams, the winner of the 3rd edition of Future Classical Women Awards, finalist in many other editions, and she's coming here with Underneath the Tree. I sit and watch the sky, and I can hear it breathe a song. I think of him, how he was. And when I think of him, then I remember, remember. In his eyes I can see where my heart longs to be.
