Hi and welcome. This is the Eat Love Do Show, exclusive to Women's Radio. Um, I am Janine Newbery and I've got a fantastic guest on today. I've got the lovely Denise Mortimer. Um, before I bring her on, uh, remember to head over to our socials, uh, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter. We are Women's Radio STN and our YouTube channel. And remember to hit that like and subscribe because it really helps the channel and we love it when you support us. Right, now we've got all the bumf out of the way, let's crack on with the show. So I've got the amazing Denise Denise Mortimer on. She is absolutely amazing at helping women clear their money blocks, particularly women that are trying to set businesses and they're more spiritually led. And they may be thinking that they're, you know, don't know how to ask for money or they shouldn't be asking for money because they're helping people. She is a master who comes in and helps them like connect to their heart and doing such a loving way and helps them clear out those blocks so that they can bring amazing stuff to the world, help other people and get paid what they're quite quite rightly due as well. And that's wonderful. And I think we need a lot more of this in the world because I think women get, um, you know, particularly have more blocks than men for some reason about asking for money and asking to be paid our worth. So I'm really excited about today's conversation. So Denise, welcome to the show. Hello, Janine. Thank you for having me. I'm so excited to have this conversation with you. I'm so excited. So do you want to give a little bit of a background on who you are, what you do, why you're doing what you do? Yeah, sure. So I, I exist. Well, I exist in real life too, but I exist in the online world. Are you real? I'm primarily in the online world for the last 6 years since 2017. And I started like doing just doing life coaching online. But then I was acquiring so many business skills, I started doing business coaching. That was like a natural evolution.. And when I started realizing that, like with my clients, I was like, just do what I do and you'll get the same great results that I get. But they weren't. And I was like, what is going on? Why are they not getting great results? And it was— it turns out it was because they have subconscious patterns that they were running. And I was like, oh my God. And soon as, soon as the penny dropped and I realized that they had patterns that they needed to clear, because I realized I had patterns I need to clear. It became a game changer. It became like if you were a builder and you were building your house on faulty foundations, you would expect that house to fall apart. Same was true with my clients. Like if they were building their businesses on faulty foundations, it had no sustainability. So it became essential for me to do the subconscious clearing before we could do the practical implementation things for the business. Yeah, I agree with that completely because, yeah, you know, you can have all the, you know, the best products, the best services to give, But if you have those things that are holding you back energetically, mentally, spiritually, whatever label you want to put on it, it's going to stop you putting that out to the world and getting, you know, getting the right customers to come in and the customers through the door that want to pay you for that as well. So yeah, yeah, absolutely. So what— so what led you down this path then? What made you come to this conclusion? Well, you know, I've just always had a natural flair for working with people, and it's taken me like 58 years to realize how magnificent I actually am. Yes. Hell yeah. Yes, it's taken me so long, but I do kind of leave an impression. I do leave a really good imprint wherever I go with people. And I've always had— I've always been able to really positively impact people. And when I experienced a form of hypnosis that was called— it's called Rapid Transformation Therapy, and I was able to get rid of some of the blocks that I had, I immediately learned how to do that. Because it just seemed like it was an injustice to my clients if I didn't offer that level of service as well. And as a result, like, they just keep getting— they keep getting better and better and better results. But it's not just about the hypnosis. It's about— it's about a daily practice challenging those limiting beliefs because they come up every single day, no matter how wealthy how gorgeous, how successful, how whatever you are, we're always facing them every single day. So giving them, giving my clients the tools to deal with that and also keep themselves like, like manage their energy hygiene, like keep it clean, keep it, keep it fresh, keep it clean, get rid of all the nasties. Yeah, that's lovely because it's the subconscious things that hold us back, isn't it? And we're not aware, we're not consciously aware that we're doing it and I think, um, I'm sure people listening will agree that sometimes they might procrastinate or sabotage their success or things they want to do, not just in business but in taking care of themselves and their life and relationships. So I think it's really good that the first thing you do is help them clear away some of that stuff that's unconsciously blocking them because, you know, yeah, that's— I came across, like, I've read a book by Mastin Kipp a number of times. If you come across his book Claim Your Power, No, but I'm connected to him on Instagram, so yeah. Yeah. So his book called Claim Your Power, he— I hope I'm giving the right— I hope I'm giving credit where it's due. I think it was Mastin who doesn't call sabotage sabotage. He calls them survival patterns. And I'm like, that's freaking amazing. And it changes it because sabotage sounds like we're intentionally going to hurt ourselves, right? Survival pattern is like you're doing what you needed to do as a kid right? And we're gonna, we're gonna shift that now. We're gonna change that. I just love the, the, the difference between it being a self-sabotaging pattern, which is another thing to beat yourself up about, or a survival pattern, which is, that's exactly what I did to survive when I was 7 years old, so now I don't need it anymore. Yeah, and it's amazing that we, we have these unconsciously playing out as well, and we're not even aware that we do. It's trauma, isn't it? Basically, it's from an experience or an event that happened in the past creates— that is actually trauma that creates a subconscious belief and a block. And I think sometimes people think trauma has to be something big and really traumatic. It can be something really small, like your mum saying, no, you can't go out and play in the park today with your friend, you've got to stay and, I don't know, do your homework. Yes. And that can be enough to create a block and a trauma. And suddenly you're an adult, 35, 40, whatever age you are, trying to do something and you're not doing it, and it's belief that was created back when you were a kid. At that moment, yes. And it's like so powerful, this work. It's just incredible. Yeah, because when we're little, the thing is, and this is so interesting because when I do regressions with clients, we'll go back to something and sometimes the root cause is a seemingly ridiculous moment now, but when you're little, everything's big. You know, my uncle came over once and I had my hair in pigtails and he said to me, you look hideous. Like, what do you think that did to my, you know, 10-year-old self-esteem? You look hideous. Not like, not even like choking back and thinking, I won't say anything to my niece, but she looks hideous. But he said, you look hideous. And I'm like, oh my God, that like cut so deep that like I was so ashamed of myself and what I looked like for, for years. But I look back now and I'm like, he didn't know what he was doing. He had no self-awareness and I took that on board as like, I don't deserve to be seen, and I'm so hideous, and I'm so ugly, I'm so horrible, I should be sort of hidden away. But everything is big when you're little, so. And you take, you don't, and when you're little as well, you don't have that cognitive function to understand sarcasm. You don't, your brain doesn't develop till you're a teenager to understand that. So he could have just been having banter. That could have been his way, like, ribbing someone. Like, some people have banter. I'm from up north, so banter's like the language of love. You take the mick out of each other and that's how you show love to people. So he could have been doing that to you as a kid, but you were only 10, so your brain doesn't understand that. So yeah, you take it. Yeah. Yeah. And you make big decisions. So it's, it's a beautiful thing to see people release that, like disconnect emotionally from those events so that they're no longer triggered by them. And it's, you know, they, it's not that they forget that those things happened. But they no longer hold those emotions that are driving their current behavior. So then they're free to make new decisions. And it is ongoing work. It's not like you just do it once. It's again, it's like then you learn a process, you learn that rinse and repeat process of challenging when that limiting belief comes up. And I think one of the biggest, most challenging things people can do is actually distill what that limiting belief is because they'll go through life and they'll be like, oh, well, like, I can't do that because, and it's, it's getting to that. I can't do that because, and, and going, what, what, why can't I do that? And, and distilling the exact belief and then putting it through a rinse and repeat process of, is that the ultimate truth? What else could be true here? What am I willing to believe differently about that? And doing that every day repeatedly until, because if you've spent 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 years rehearsing something that's been unhelpful, it takes a little while to rehearse the other side of it as well. So when you look at it like that, it's like, well, obviously, you know, that's why it's running it. And also people are making a decision based on something that was put in the subconscious as a child, say they were 7. That means that they're making this decision now that a 7-year-old is making for them. It's like, would you let a 7-year-old drive your car and drive you to work? No, of course you wouldn't, because they crash and they don't know what they're doing. It's the same if your subconscious thoughts are driving your decisions now as an adult, you've basically got that 7-year-old or whatever age you were when the experience happened, creating and is taking the driving wheel and they're driving the car now. It's like, no wonder you keep crashing or sabotage, you know, sabotage yourself or procrastinating or not believing in yourself because a 7-year-old doesn't know how to do that or a 10-year-old like in your example. Well, they go to survival patterns. They do exactly what they needed to do to survive. So Yeah. It's fascinating. Yeah. And I love it. And it's like, I feel like I've become like such a— like, I've got X-ray vision for, like, looking at people and being able to see. Sometimes I can't see my own stuff. You know, I'm going, you know, we're all work in progress. The day we take our last breath is the day we're finished working on this earth. But we don't, you know, we can't always see our own stuff. But I listen to other people and I'm like, hmm, that's an interesting belief you've got there. And sometimes I need to just bite my tongue because I would love to say, do you want to feel differently about that? Because they tell me it like it's the ultimate and only truth. Yeah. Because, well, that's the thing with the belief, isn't it? You believe it. So you believe it so vehemently that, that, and sometimes like people die for their beliefs. I remember somebody saying that to me once, like religions and stuff and beliefs and not that we'll talk about religion. We're not going off on that tangent, but people die for their beliefs. And if they believe something about themselves, others, or the world, If something comes along and disrupts that, that can be really discombobulating and really scary because they, their whole identity in life is tied to believing this is how things work. And then if they find out it's not, then they're like, holy hell, like, and suddenly they feel unsafe and they don't know about themselves or, you know, they can't go on. Do you know, you've just made me think about, I think I've had— it's been 2 clients over, like, literally thousands of clients that I've had either on group programs or one-to-one through this hypnosis that I do. And you get to a point where I invite them, like, would you like to get rid of this all now? Do you want to get rid of all these old beliefs? And one lady was like, I don't know, because I don't know who I'm going to be without these beliefs. And I'd never faced that before. And this is going back about 2 years. And I said, well, I was kind of thinking on my feet. I'm like, think quick, Denise Watt. And I go, Could you— would you be willing to suspend those beliefs for a week? Would you be willing to try it on? And she was like, yeah. And when we got back in a week and we spoke in a week, she was like, I never want that back again. Because you have a freedom that you've never experienced. Like most people, most people, Janine, don't know what inner peace feels like. They don't know what it feels like because they've never experienced it. And suddenly they'll be like, there's nothing there. It's not bad. It's just, it's, it's a good empty. It's like I don't have any walls put up. I don't have any judgments. I can scroll through social media and not feel triggered. I can talk to my father who used to be, you know, that like used to always trigger me or whatever it is. They're suddenly like, it's like they've, it's like we've cleaned the chalkboard and it's like fresh palette. Yeah, it gives space, and doesn't it, for them to be them and to discover who they are again? Because I think sometimes as adults we get lost, we get so caught up in life and things that we sort of forget who we are because we put all attention maybe on taking care of family or other people, a career, and we've kind of lost who we are and what makes us happy and brings us joy and, you know, that connection to ourselves. So when you clear out all that stuff, all that anxiety, all those beliefs it creates that space for you to sort of explore and connect back to you. And you feel more like yourself again. It's like, like you're lighter, like you're taking off this backpack of, you know, trauma and stress and anxiety and whatever else comes up. And then suddenly you're like, oh, I feel a bit lighter. Yes. And it literally is like enlightenment because there's like, there's this thing called the map of consciousness developed by Dr. David Hawkins. You might be familiar with it where he looks at the vibrational measures of every human emotion. And at the bottom of the scale, you've got shame, guilt, despair, helplessness, hopelessness. And most people— no, not most people. Every single client that I've worked with, when we drill, when we distill back to their story, at the core of it is guilt and shame. And those are the lowest vibrating emotions. So when you, when you release guilt and shame from your energetic field, you rise up that emotional frequency and you get to a higher level where the law of attraction— lots of people know about the law of attraction, but they've never really understood how it operates. This is the law of attraction in action. You get rid of guilt and shame because you're always attracting. We're always magnetizing something whether we like it or not. When you get rid of those emotions, you rise to another level. And then suddenly you look in the mirror and you look the same and everything else seems the same, yet your energy is clear. And then things start— people go— and this is how my clients start making money. They're like, suddenly the thing that was blocking them, the money makes people, money makes the people I love fight, I don't deserve money, I deserve to be broke, whatever it is, it's gone. And then they become like magnetic for more of the things they want, whether it's love, whether it's a healthier, a healthier outlook, maybe it's training more or eating healthier food, choosing healthier food or just making more money or calling, like whatever it is, they become more magnetic. And it's just like no one is more surprised than me when I'm like, holy crap, this is amazing. I think a lot of everyone's sort of heard of manifestation, haven't they? And a lot of people sort of dabbled with it. And then they kind of say, well, this is what I really want and I'm putting it out to the universe or whatever. And I'm saying, or I might be doing my vision board or I might be writing it out or they try all these techniques and then they're like, but it's not happening and it's not happening. You're quite right because they've got that belief in place, probably that they don't deserve it or they've got beliefs around money that they've learned from their parents or other people. And it's the block. And if they don't clear out the block, they can't energetically be a match to the thing that they want. And I think, you know, so I think it's really powerful that you're actually doing this deep work with them and clearing out the stuff that's stopping them from having what they'd really love. So I think it's incredible. Yeah, it is. It's, it really is. Uh, and most people when they're requesting, when they're like manifesting, I really want this, they're wanting it because the absence of that thing is so evident in their life. So they're wanting it from a place of desperation and lack. Rather than, I'd really love to have that, and actually I'm fine if I don't have it. And that, that's where the, that's where the magic is. It's like, you know what, I would love to have that, I would love to have it, but I'm not going to starve and my house is going to be taken away and nothing is going to go, you know, it's not going to be the end of the world if I don't have it. It's like, I need, I need to find love, I need the thing, you know, when you're trying to grip something so tightly, it it, it can't stay. It's just, it's repellent. We all know that feeling of like feeling so in love with someone who doesn't love us back, and, you know, we desperately want them, and then they go in the other direction. And as soon as we move in another direction, they're going, well, hang on, they're not chasing me anymore. Like, the very thing comes when you don't care anymore, when you let go of the attachment to wanting it. It, it can flow more freely to us. Yeah, it's Powerful, powerful. So if anyone's listening, um, of course there are people listening, but for people listening, is anyone out there? Is anyone listening? Um, what advice would you give them? So if they're, um, the kind of like, I want to start creating more money, how do they start to work out what these blocks are? What would be like the starting steps that they could maybe start to apply now to start seeing some shifts? Okay. So if someone is completely new to this kind of work and money mindset was something that I stumbled upon, stumbled upon, I was in a desperate situation like 20 years ago. It was just horrible. I didn't know how to— I didn't even know there was anything called money mindset. The first port of call would be check out a book by T. Harv Eker. It changed my life and I will never, ever like I never ever forget this book. What's the name of it again? No, I'm joking. Who the hell is he? It's called Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. Yeah, I know the book. Yeah. And it was the first book that really started to change my thinking. So if people are unfamiliar with their money story, and that they all have a financial thermostat that is like— and this is so interesting as well. We all have this thermostat that keeps us at a certain level. Even, even if you're getting eviction notices every month, that's your thermostat. That's where your financial thermostat is set. That's your comfort zone. Maybe you grew up with that. So start asking yourself the questions: What did my father believe about money? What did my mother believe about money? What did I observe from them? Like, what, what did you observe as a child? Were you wealthy? Were you not wealthy? Did your father drink every weekend? Did your mother, like, make you save everything? Did you always get hand-me-down clothes? Were you mocked at school for being poor? Did you have more than the other kids and you felt, you felt embarrassed because you had more than the others and therefore you felt like you needed to hide the wealth that you had? Because it goes in the other direction too. When people have too much, they, they feel embarrassed and they feel guilty and they feel shameful. So, you know, what story are you telling yourself that is showing up in your life every single day? That's, that's the number one place to start. And T. Harv Eker's book is a game changer. Yeah, I remember that, but it's been, it's been around for years, but the classic, definitely one of the classics. But that's really powerful, isn't it? Because It really does, but our parents do really set up the whole framework. And I loved your description of it being like your thermostat and that's your comfort zone. And because it can, it can be in a really bad place, but it's sort of, it's like better the devil you know than the devil you don't. Like it is, you can't, it becomes comfortable. You feel safe in, in that because there's certainty knowing that this is where it is. And there is fear in the unknown and changing and being a different person or living a different way. So. And it sounds insane when people go, I don't want to be broke anymore. I don't want all this debt. What? But it is. It does feel safe and comfortable. Exactly. It's their survival pattern. Again, coming back to they go to their survival pattern, which is familiar to them, even if it's not comfortable, it's familiar. And every single one of us, and I've had some self-employed people say to me, like, how can I determine what I'm going to earn every month? And it's like, you command what you're going to earn every month. You decide what you're going to earn. You carve that in stone. And when I realized this, I had realized that there was a point in time where I was making just enough to cover everything. And I'm like, I'm commanding just enough. Now I'm commanding overflow. Now I'm deciding that I want to always call in more than goes out. I want to be accumulating money in my bank account. I want to be accumulating money in my business account instead of just getting by. So I urge people to think as well, like, where is your thermostat at? What's, what's the level? Because you have the power to change it no matter what your circumstances are. You have the power to change it. You're never a victim of circumstance. You're a victim of your own thinking. Yeah, it's interesting, isn't it? And I love what you said, that it's about familiarity. I just had a little download of you saying that I got a Familiarity is the death of success. Yes. Yeah, it's like a golden cage, isn't it? Like, oh, it feels safe in here. I'm going to stay in here. It's a gilded cage, really. But yeah. And yeah, it's, and it's also like, there's also a fear, Janine, because people, you know, one of our greatest desires is to be loved and accepted by the people who've grown us, you know? And if our thoughts and our beliefs start departing from what's normal for them, it can be really challenging because it's like, well, who's gonna love me if I don't? And this, this— I love this. I created this, and I saw— I love it. It's painful. It's painful either way. It's painful to stay in a cycle of keep repeating the same damaging behaviors, and it's painful to grow because we have growing pains. We're going into unknown territory. Either way is painful. You gotta choose your pain. Yeah, choose your pain. Yeah, I said it's— if— yes, it's uncomfortable either way, isn't it? So choose your— she choose your discomfort. Yeah, yeah. Well, it's, it's the same in anything in life, you know. You can— I know that you, you know, you, you live a very healthy lifestyle. That takes— that is, there are sacrifices that need to be made to do that, but it becomes normal. Yeah. And just like you sacrifice if you're choosing to eat nachos, cheesy nachos on the sofa every night. You know, there's a sacrifice there as well. So again, there's pain in either direction. There's a sacrifice somewhere along the way in order for you to have a standard that you hold yourself to. So you can— and everybody has an opportunity to choose a new standard at any, at any moment. Yeah. If you heard, like, if you heard— if someone hears something in this or any of your other interviews, they have full permission to leave listening to this a new person. You can be a new person at any moment. Like, I learned something the other day. I'm like, I'm not the same person after this minute in time. Like, I'm a noob. Like, you have permission to be a new person. You gain new information. You're not— you're not the same person anymore. You're allowed to change like that. Yeah, I agree. And literally everyone I speak to on my show, I learn something from each person. And I definitely feel like I grow and evolve and change and think differently and see things differently and how to do things differently from this. Absolutely love it. Every single person's like, yeah, absolutely right. And also I think that allowing yourself to change as well, because like, if you're just talking about money, like you might suddenly like clear out the blocks that are allowing you to get money to come in, but you haven't cleared out the blocks that you feel like you're worthy of holding on to it and being wealthy. So it might come in and then you might spend it really quick. So that— yeah, that's so interesting. That was another thing. That was another thing I was working on because I'm like, all right, I can teach people how to make money. I'm like, but why am I not like— why am I not taking private jets? And why don't I have a yacht yet? I'm like, what? You mean you don't have a yacht yet? But I realized that it's a multifaceted thing. I was making it, but I was feeling— I was not enjoying it. I was making sure that I was paying everything I owed. And debt is another big issue for people. And I want, like, anyone listening to this, they probably have some debt somewhere along the way. Most people have some level of debt. I don't even know the numbers, but most people have some debt. I want you to think of it this way. Every country on the planet has debt. You're allowed to have a little bit of debt. You're not allowed to be reckless with it. And there's good debt and there's bad debt, just like there's good stress and bad stress, right? Bad debt is when you're recklessly out of control and you don't know what the hell you're doing and you're running around like a scared chicken because you don't know where your money's coming from. And good debt is like, I'm making an investment in myself. I'm putting something forward in advance of knowing that it's going to come back to me. Whether it's in property, whether it's in your, your personal growth, whatever it is that you're making an investment, that means you might be short in your bank account for a while and you're going to pay it off over time. But, you know, if you, if you're, you've acquired some, some good debt that's helping you, give yourself— go back to T. Harv Eker's book, do the 4 accounts that he talks about in there. It's really important because you need to give yourself permission to enjoy your money as well. Because people who have debt, me being one of them, I was like, I can't have fun with my money until all my debt's gone. And then I realized I'm probably gonna die with debt. And so is everybody else. Most people are going to die with debt. Get used to it. Decide to pay it off. Don't let it dictate your life. Don't live under guilt and shame for having acquired it. Make a plan to pay it off and have fun. And have fun. What would be the 4 points you mentioned that were in T. Harv Eker's book? He talks about 4 accounts, and these accounts changed my life. This is even before I started doing like really deep mindset work as well. So the 4 accounts are you literally have 4 different bank accounts. At that time I had 4 envelopes. I'm going back 20 years. Like, you know, it was before, like, we were so sophisticated with technology. One is like your daily stuff, like your day, you know, your normal living expenses. So it should be something like— I'm trying to think of the distribution, but it's like normal living expenses, long-term savings, education, and fun. So these are the accounts, and you distribute your money amongst those 4 accounts, right? So there's always money in a fun account. And I think if you've got debt, it'd be good to have a debt account as well, wouldn't it? Sure. Like you play with these, play with these. But for me, the game changer, the game changer at that point in my life was having a fun account because it was like, oh my God, sudden I think it was like £20 a week I had, but I suddenly had £20 a week that I could do whatever the hell I wanted to do with. I didn't feel like I have to pay this I have to pay the— and I had £6,000 in debt on credit cards at that time, which was out of control debt for me. It wasn't like— I've had worse than that since, but for different, like, with different intention behind it. I was— I didn't know how to get out of it at that time. I don't mean worse, I mean bigger, but with more intention. And I gave myself 6 months to get out of the £6,000 in debt. And by being intentional and managing these 4 accounts, I did it in 2 months. I got rid of my £6,000 debt in 2 months. We became a cash-only family, never to use credit cards again until I decided— until I felt like we were on a really, you know, good, good level playing field. But having that fun account was such a game changer. I see so many people— I ran an event at the weekend, as I said, so raise your hand if you feel— if you have debt, raise your hand if you feel like you can't enjoy your money. Because you have debt? And just about every hand in the place went up. And it's like, how— people are not enjoying their money, they're not enjoying their lives. And don't even start me on The Matrix. Don't even get me into that, you know, this is all conditioning to keep us in fear and, you know, low-level energy. That's a whole nother conversation. But you have permission to enjoy your money, even if it's the tiniest bit. You can enjoy that money. Go and treat yourself to something. Yeah, I think that's the key, isn't it? Like, you do have the permission to enjoy your money. Like, don't spend all your money on stuff first. Obviously be organized and be a grown-up and pay the things that need to be paid, but have that fun money. I really like that. It's a nice definition. And tell us about this, um, event that you had on the weekend, because I saw on social— oh my God, it was so freaking amazing. Yeah, and I think my friend Vivian was on it as well. She's coming on the show in a couple of weeks. Yes, yes, yes, she came, she came. Um, it was, it was— every time I create something new, I'm like, that was the best thing I've ever done. And that was the best thing I've ever done. That's good. That should, that should be how you feel about everything that you create. You know what, I decided that as well. And I'm gonna, I'm gonna tell you, for me, which was the most significant moment of the day. It was fabulous. It was like, it was everything. I've been to so many seminars, and then like yourself, through my life and I've taken things and I'm like, I want to do something nice. Like, that's like so like wildly off the scale like that and like that and like that. And this was— this day was like everything I've ever wanted to do in one place. And it was just magical. But the most— the biggest learning I had from the day is I bought this outfit and I searched high and low and I went to John Lewis and had a personal stylist helping me. And I bought this dress and I hated it. I hated this dress, but it was a dress that I should wear because it was expensive and it was blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, I was driving to my hairdresser that morning to get my makeup and hair and makeup done. And I was like, I hate this dress. I feel so uncomfortable in it. But I had bought another outfit that I really wanted to wear and I put it in my suitcase because I'm like, I might, I might wear that, so I might change into that. So I think subconsciously I already knew I was going to change into it. So during the lunch break, I went back earlier, of course, than everyone else, and I put my outfit on, my second outfit, and the power and energy that I felt from this new outfit on, I was like a new woman. I was like, like I needed like a musical introduction. It was like, dun dun dun, she's here. Like, that's what it felt like. And I felt so powerful and I felt so incredible. And when they all sat— when they all came back in the room, they were like, oh my God, you look amazing. I'm like, I know. Yes, I do. But like, like there was no one going to tell me I didn't. Like, I just— it just was like oozing out of me. And I said, You know, I came here in that first dress as the dress that I felt like I should be seen in. But this is the one I wanted to wear. So how many times in your life do you do things that you think you should do as opposed to what you really want to do? And the result, it wasn't even just that day, like on my social media, it's just people like, oh my God, I'm getting messages from hot young men going, you look amazing. And I'm like, it's like they can feel, they can feel what was, you know, that like that, that power and that energy. And it made me realize I don't want to wear clothes anymore. I want to wear costumes. And every time I do a live event, I want to have 2 changes of clothes. And I need to upgrade my wardrobe. I need to be wearing clothes that make me like I haven't been wearing clothes that make me feel incredible. And I, and, you know, I'm not skinny, I'm not young, I'm not skinny, I'm not gorgeous. But I felt like a million freaking dollars in that outfit. And I'm like, I deserve to feel like that every day. I love that because it's like you're being authentic, you're being who you really are. And, and it's not just the outfit. Like, when you put that on, the outfit's great, but it's actually who you is shining. And your energy was so impactful that everyone felt it when they walked back in the room. You got boys hitting on you on social media, and it's just because you were like shining. And the irony is we do show up trying to be what we think we need to be to look professional or how we show up in life, but we're not sure. Yeah, you showed up as yourself and who you were, and the impact that had was incredible on you and everyone else, and you were completely empowered. I love, I love that story. I absolutely love it. It's my— it's like, it was like, well, that and that, and like there's a little clip I have on my Facebook page at the moment where like I'm standing in the middle of the crowd going, I believe. Like, we were like taking it to church. We were having the best time. Sing it. Hallelujah. That's what it felt like. I mean, the song is called I Believe. Do you remember I Believe? I remember that song. So we were like, we were dancing. We wrote letters from our future selves to our current selves, and we were dancing them into our future. We weren't walking them into the future. We were dancing them. So I believe it was just so much fun and it was just so beautiful to see. Like, I love that. I said to people, like, I wrote to them beforehand, I said, what do you want to experience at this event? Like, what's going to be a great outcome for you? And like, I was thinking, like I said, well, I really want to come away with some business strategy. And one lady was like, I think we should do a conga line down to lunch. And I'm like, people don't want serious stuff, they want to do a conga line down to lunch. I love that. Screw the business, conga line. Is she Northern? She is actually. Shocker, shocker. So we had a lot of fun. We did, like, we had a lot of fun, but we also had some really profound, deep moments of people. You know, my audience is primarily women, and a lot of women are so accustomed to giving and not receiving. But there has to be a flow. You can't just keep breathing in. You have to exhale. There has to be a flow. You have to give, you have to receive, you have to give, you have to receive. And so many women are unaccustomed to receiving. So we did a great big exercise where We stood in a circle. I demonstrated for them. I said, I'm just going to stand in the circle and all you're going to do is just send me all the love. And I'm just going to think of every shameful, awful thing I've ever done. And all I'm going to do is just receive this love from you. And everyone got a few seconds in the middle and there were so many tears of people just receiving, women just receiving. It was just— it was beautiful. It was incredible to see. So that's lovely. We don't do it. You're right. Like we don't receive that love and we're constantly focused. I think I was having a conversation with this, like literally today with a girlfriend about this. We want to give, we want to do because we want everyone to be happy and we want the best for people. So we give, give, give and deplete ourselves and forget to receive. So I think that's a really beautiful thing to do. Yeah, it was, it was really, it was me and the song. Oh my God. The song that was, we played there, um, was just. It's, you know, you know you are loved, like, and it's just this beautiful, beautiful song. And afterwards, people were just like, I've never allowed myself to receive. Like, they were like 10 seconds in the middle of the circle. I just kind of gently guided them in and guided them out just to receive. And now, I've never received. I've never allowed myself to receive so much. And I'm like, you can receive anything. You need to just be open to receive. So it was Beautiful, beautiful experience. Oh, that is lovely. And yeah, and if you, if you've never received, you don't know how to, do you? So how would you know when you're feeling it and when, when you're, yeah, when you're not? So I think that's really lovely you gifted people that. That's beautiful. Oh, you made me feel all mushy and my heart's just swelled up. That's lovely. Sorry, Denise, I'll be crying in a minute. No, it was, it was very emotional for people and more emotional than I, than I realized it was going to be. And it was like all— like, I've been to so many places where they're like, now do this exercise in silence. And then they take— like, they take it up, they take it down. I'm like, I'm going to lead them like that. The night before, I couldn't even sleep. I was having major anxiety. I'm like, you haven't planned anything. And then— and sort of like my intuition's going, it's all going to be okay. And my logical mind's going, you haven't planned anything and you have an ugly dress. Oh, I love that inner critic voice. Yeah, the inner critic, right? Your dress is ugly, you're fat, and you're gonna— you haven't even planned the day. This is what I mean with my clients. Like, they think I got— they think I've got it all together. I've got to deal with, like, you know, what am I gonna look like standing up there? Am I, you know, am I— should I whiten my teeth more? Should I lose 30 pounds before tomorrow, like all the thing on my own. I tell you what, if you learn how to lose 30 pounds in 24 hours, you can bottle that and sell that for millions. I'm gonna try that, I'm gonna try that. Oh, but it's really nice, it's really refreshing to hear, um, someone say that, especially a woman, because I think we always think that if someone's stood up the front and running a retreat or a workshop or putting themselves out there and being a leader helping people that they've got everything together and they've got the confidence and they know and everything's aligned and everything's perfect and that's why they're stood up there doing it. But actually the truth is most of us are always learning, most of us don't know what we're doing and, you know, and I think a lot of time people stop, you know, we can stop ourselves putting ourselves forward and doing stuff, particularly women, because we feel like, you know, I think you maybe touched on that imposter syndrome or that we're not enough, we don't know what we're doing and we're not confident enough or, or I don't know, knowledgeable enough or experienced enough. But really, just by putting yourself up there and shining and wearing the outfit you want to wear and being true to you. Oh my God, you got to go on my Facebook. It's just, it's, it's extraordinary. It's really awesome. And it was like £36 compared to my like £189 dress, which I know is not expensive by some standards, but I was like, I bought an expensive, really nice dress and I had it all fitted and I'm like, ugh, I just didn't feel good in it. And my £36 outfit that I bought online that I had no idea if it was going to fit or not turned up the night before and I'm like, I really love this and I'm bringing it with me. There you go. That's just proof of the pudding. Doesn't have to be expensive to be nice. Yeah, well, and just the impact and how I felt in it as well was just That was, that was like such a profound moment. And like when the feedback people gave that, like they were like, your costume change. And I'm like, I like costume change. I look like Beyoncé. Yeah. And for my second act, you're gonna have to put a song together now, aren't you? Like do like a proper show. And I love that you, you said that you, you didn't have anything planned. You just intuitively led the day as well. I think that's great. I think that's really good. You know, people showed up and they were like, you know, one lady said, I can't wait to see what you have in store. I'm like, me too. You're like, oh, am I leading the day? I had it loosely structured. I knew, I knew there were 4, 4 quarters of the day. There were 4 key themes. I didn't know how they were going to play out. I was waiting to and I like, I had everything there, but I didn't know. It wasn't prescriptive. It was just like, let's just see where it goes. Let's see what the audience needs. Let's see when we need to get up and dance. We did a lot of dancing. It was just, it was beautiful. Like, you know, my inner DJ is like, everybody, love is in the air. I love that. So talk us through what are the 4 sessions, like the 4 sections that you did? Because I'm sure you're going to be putting this event on. I'm sure people listening will be like wanting to come on to see the outfit more than anything. I know, I'm like, how am I going to top my outfit? So it's basically, it's basically a belief change process, which is— I believe it's the— I believe, I believe, I believe it is the only process. I say it's the only process It can be delivered in many different ways, but I've paid a lot of money and I've paid a little money to learn the same thing. It all amounts to the same thing. Identify what is the limiting belief? Mm-hmm. What is the impact to that limiting belief? What do you wanna change it to? Now let's embody that. So it's just identify what's the impact. Change it, embody it, you know, and I'm simplifying it. Actually, it is, it is simple. It's like, yeah, there's a process. It's like, you know, I've got a PDF that takes people through this. I studied the work of Amanda Francis, who's another phenom— you know, Amanda Francis, she's a phenomenal multimillionaire. She's like, you know, 35 years old, has made millions from her coaching programs. She's like, you know, you— is that the ultimate truth? Is that the ultimate truth? What else could be true here? Like, like I've studied with some other mentors in, in the online space. And it all comes down to the same thing. What is the belief? What is the impact? What else can we believe? Like, what would your higher self tell you about this? Like, what, what would God or what would Jesus or what would your guardian angel or what would your favorite dead aunt tell you? Like, you know, like, say about this. And then, you know, how do you feel moving forward? How can you embody this? How can you, It's all about getting to the vibrational frequency. So it was just taking them on that journey. So we just went on, you know, each one of those 4 parts was a piece of the journey, finishing with, you know, I believe dancing, dancing their way into their new future. Lovely way to end as well. A little dance at the end. Oh my God, it was so good. I love that. I love that. Yeah, you just broke it down. I do. Beliefs release with people as well. And as you were saying, I was like, oh yeah, I guess that is what I do. I've never thought it that concise before. That's all it is, right? It's all it is. Yeah, yeah. All different. Yeah. And that's the exact process you just said. I was like, oh yeah, I do the same thing, but in a slightly different style to you. But I was like, yeah, you've just hit the nail on the head. Boom. And if you start looking at everything you've ever paid for, I've paid £15,000 to learn this. I've paid £2,000 to learn it. I've paid £10 to learn it. I've paid so much money. And when I distill it down, it's the same process. It's the same process. So I truly believe that when we— what I challenge my clients to do, I'm like, commit this to memory, commit this to memory so that when you're standing in the queue and you're telling yourself some story that's not true, You can work yourself through this process. And then the real test is going to be when you're sitting down with a friend at lunch who's telling you some story that's not true about themselves. Take them through the process too. Then you've really nailed it when you can start to, you know, apply it to other people as well. And it comes in many different forms. Like, you know, you said you do the same thing. Everyone is ultimately doing the same thing. Identify, transmute, identify, transmute. I think, yeah, we're all walking around, aren't we, without, with our beliefs running the show for us, if you like. So it's like, it's like if we had a spaceship and that like we're going around doing it, the beliefs are like the people flying it in the background and we're just, we're not even unaware, we're just like the guests on it and like looking around out into space, but we're completely unaware of the people driving it and that's the beliefs. So we're completely unaware that our beliefs are driving the whole show. So true. Yeah, really, really true. Yes, I think that's bloody great. So what? So what else, Denise? What's coming up next? What's coming up next? Oh my God. So immediately I booked the next, the next live event and now I went and funny enough, listen to this, listen to this. I rarely get clients through Instagram, right? Most of my clients come through Facebook. So I'm like, I actually need a costume designer. Hell yes, you do. Right? So this woman messages me this morning. She's like, I've been following you, following you on Instagram. I want to know about what it's like to work with you. So we're having these messages back and forth this morning. And I said, what do you do? And she said, I'm a seamstress and I design clothes and I have all these gorgeous fabrics and, and textures. And she's like, and I want to start putting that into practice. And I'm thinking, and I need a costume designer. I was like, instant manifestation. So I, you know, I continue to do my work with my clients, clearing the beliefs, helping them get out there, like, creating magic in their businesses. I'm really good at helping people, like, make their first money online, get into their first, like, 4 or 5-figure months where they're like, oh my God, I never knew this was possible. So it gives me a huge amount of joy to see people stepping into that and making money, taking their God-given gifts and making money from that. It's just such an amazing experience to have and to allow them to teach them that rinse and repeat process so they can continue to do that on their own. And we do that as part of my mastermind over a period of time. We just keep going over the same thing until they get to a point where they go to ask me a question. They go, I know what you're going to say, it's going through the process again, or I'll do it for them, or one of the others will do it for them, but it's just do that process, just do that process. Well, as I say, repetition is the mother of all learning, so yeah. Yeah, absolutely, yeah. That's how we learned when we were kids as well, isn't it? We just kept doing something over and over and over again, and I think sometimes we forget as adults, we almost think that we should be able to learn something once and then know it, but actually no, that's not how the mind works. It needs to, needs that repetition, that reinforcement, that reconditioning to get to the point where it comes innate in who we are. So yeah, and that's where a lot of people let themselves down, Janine, is that they, they learn something once and go, that's a really cool idea, and then they forget about it when they get home. And you know yourself, you don't, you know, you don't have one super green smoothie and have glowing good health, or you don't lift one dumbbell and go, I'm a superstar fitness fanatic now. Like, repetition is the— yeah, is the mother of mastery. So the mother of mastery, I love that. Yeah, yeah. You don't get bustling biceps from one bicep curl, you're damn right. Yeah, well, and people need— people need to know that, that because they'll, they'll read a book, they'll go to a workshop, and it's like, all right, is— what are you gonna— like, what are you gonna do now? What are you gonna— what choices are you gonna make now? Uh, and everyone, you know, it's not, it's not about putting people on a guilt trip, but it is about genuinely opening them up to, what do you want to do now? Do you want to continue the way you've been, or do you want to create something new for yourself? And remembering that either way is painful. Painful to stay stuck, and it's painful to have growing pains. But the big but there is knowing that there are people who've been through the growing pains, and those are the people who you want to take by the actual or virtual hands and and say, okay, I know you've done it, you've been through the other side, tell me what it's like, show me what's possible here. Yeah, I think that's what a good coach is, like someone like yourself, isn't it? Like, you've been through that, so you can help them navigate and make, make that transition and their journey easier because you know all the potholes and, you know, and the mistakes that you've made and discovered and learned, so you can share that knowledge with them to help make their transition and journey smoother and quicker to where they want to be and enjoy the process of getting there as well. Exactly. Yes. Yeah. Because you can't, you know, I'll just, I'll finish on this note that the first time I built my business, I built it on the foundations of working really hard and working around the clock because that's what I was being taught from my mentor at the time, who was a man, and it might have some bearing on that kind of, you know, working around the clock kind of, you know, work ethic. Uh, maybe I'm being sexist there, I don't know. But, um, that's how I built my business. And like, then I was like, I can't do this anymore. And I'm being celebrated for like doing so well in business, and I'm exhausted, and nobody knows I'm exhausted, or they don't care that I'm exhausted. They're just celebrating that I'm making a lot of money. And I decided a few years back that I'm gonna make money and have a fulfilling and joyful life. I can have both of those things. I don't have to compromise one to have the other. So, and that's what I want my women to do, all the women in my life. Well, I've got some men in my world as well, but to have that, to allow them to, to make the money they want, but like literally command, I want to work these many hours, I'm going to earn this much money, I'm going to see this many clients, that you decide and then you call it in, not the other way around. Like, you don't just keep responding to, my God, this client wants to work for me and they want to pay me peanuts, okay, I'll take that. That you decide from that place of power what you, what you want to do with your life and how you want your business to run. Yeah, because it's not just about making money, isn't it? You want to, you want to enjoy, you want to be happy, you want to help people, you want to actually have a life and a lifestyle that you enjoy and you're not burnt out for. So money isn't the end goal. We need the money because otherwise it's just a hobby. But it's like the, the end goal is actually the enjoyment and living a life that you love and being a person that you love being. And feeling energized and happy because you're aligned and doing what you love, but you're also getting paid well. So it's not like money's not— and it's very different from what you described when you first started out with that guy and that sort of business arena you're in where just the money was being championed and not everything else, not all the other stuff. Yeah. Are you happy? Are you living true to yourself? Yeah. I would argue that all matters more. The money kind of comes in secondary. Like, we need the money, but it should be secondary and it should come in because you're doing all the other stuff and you're living that happiness and joy and who you are. And that's why money comes in. And wearing fabulous costumes. And wearing fabulous costumes indeed. Yeah, looking, looking kind of hot doing it. Yeah, I love that. Yeah, like, so it's not just talk the walks, like walk the catwalk. Oh, that's really lovely. Right, we're, we're coming, we're coming to a cut. We've got a few minutes left though. So, um, is there any other goals you would love to impart onto the audience before we, uh, say goodbye? If you're struggling with money yet, just do your— do your— do your— understand your money story. Read T. Harv Eker's book. That, like, there are so many books out there, but that was the one that was like the first one that was so powerful for me. Um, and know that if you're, you're feeling like like you're a victim of circumstance, like you can't get out of things, that you can. And to speak to someone like yourself, like me, to find people in the online space or in the real space, real-time space, who have a different belief system, because if they have a different belief system, you can adopt some of it. You don't— like, nobody needs to stay stuck. You come through with one life on this earth, and you have a choice how you can make it. Uh, you can make it good, you can make it bad, you can make it all different things. You know, you're never, it's never just one way. You're never just stuck in a, in a hole. There's always a way out. Yeah. Yeah. 100%. And I think, yeah, we, I think it's knowing that you've got that choice to change your life how it was. That, that's true empowerment. I think that's true happiness as well. We're not stuck. And I think, and I like that you said like, like, look, look for people, um, like online or wherever that have a different mindset. Cause if you're just surrounded by the same people all the time, it's hard to shift who you are and your mindset because. As I say, you become what you surround yourself with. So you can start surrounding yourself with other people and you can start just by following them on social media. So you can start like, you know, learning, reading, adopting some of their beliefs. Yeah. Thinking like, what does that person believe is true? Maybe I, maybe I could, I've got a whole nother story, but I'll tell it another time. But you know, that you can try on other people's beliefs and think, how does that fit? And do I need to tailor it a little bit to suit me? And you can do that. You can absolutely do that. Yeah, I love that. And like you said before with the lady, like, would you try it on for a week? It takes that— you don't feel as— it takes away that kind of, oh, pressure, doesn't it, of the change? Just do it for a week. That's a really, really beautiful thing to try. You want to start being a different way, do like Denise suggested, just try it for a week. Try on some new beliefs for a week and then see how you feel at the end of the week. Did you like it? Did you not like it? If you liked it, great, do more of it. And one more thing, experience hypnosis. Experience hypnosis. Hypnosis changes lives because it helps you reprogram your subconscious. Experience hypnosis. Find someone that you know, love, and trust, and, or just ask for referrals, whatever. But have, have a great hypnosis session with someone who comes highly recommended. Yeah. Do you give, um, one-to-one sessions, hypnosis sessions with people? Yeah, yeah, absolutely. That's, that's like the most powerful way to work because it like dives into someone's very very own bespoke story and able, able to sort of really do a deep cleanse there. Okay, cool. So if anyone would like to try hypnosis, obviously thoroughly recommend Denise. I've known Denise for years. How can they find you? They can find me on Facebook in a fabulous outfit, obviously. Denise Mortimer, just Denise Mortimer on Facebook. On Instagram, Denise_Mortimer12. My website is DeniseMortimer.com. Just reach out if you're feeling inclined and let's talk. Oh, you've been such a good guest, Denise. Thank you so much. And also, um, if, if you guys want to read up a bit more, um, about Denise and what she does, Denise wrote an amazing article for the Eat Love Do site. So head over to eatlovedo.com onto the blog there, which is called Read Up, and search under the Love section. And she wrote a fantastic article called Heal the Trauma to Remove the Drama, and it's brilliant. It shares a little bit on, um, how, um, 'unhealed trauma is the number one cause of emotional and physical suffering,' which I would agree with. Um, and also she's got a couple of exercises in there, so you can read through the article, um, and take yourself through the steps, um, that she's put on there. So she's put two exercises on there that you can use at home now and apply straight away to your life. So thanks, Denise, for, um, that wonderful article that you, you, you actually wrote that last year, actually put on the site last year. Um, and it's really, really powerful as well. So, um, if you want to have a little go at clearing out some of your, um, beliefs that might be blocking your life in some way, you can pop along to that now and have— give that a little go. Obviously, if you want a one-to-one with Denise, uh, check her out. Um, myself and Denise both, um, deal with removing trauma and deep subconscious blocks, which I, I can say as well because it's work I do that is really powerful and it is life-changing stuff. So really, if you're not moving forward in your life in some way, it's usually a block in the subconscious. So find somebody to work with that can clear that out for you. But in the meantime, you can check out the article. If you'd want to work with me or Denise, reach out to us. We will be happy to help you. Yeah, we just want to, you know, be healthy, happy, and live your best lives. So that's why I love doing this show and interviewing people like Denise. And this is really transformational stuff. So whether it's hypnosis or deep subconscious work, it does transform your life. So it's all these things, you know, these things that we've got locked in the back of our subconscious that can be the thing that's stopping you from moving forward and being your happier self, doing that career that you want to do, having that relationship you want to have, having the body you want to have, and just believing in yourself, shutting off all that kind of mind chatter. Or that, you know, where you're not really believing in yourself or thinking that you're enough, that is genuinely all subconscious stuff. And everything can be cleared out from the subconscious, all the beliefs. And it is— this is true transformation and true work, which is one of the reasons I do it. Um, and I— yeah, so I hope that you got a lot from this week's show. We, uh, love having you on listening, and, um, keep coming back week after week.
